I attended a mind
throbbing session on “Proposing Ideas” few weeks back.
The program was focused on
·
Improving
creativity
·
Generate
more ideas
·
How
to handle the rejection of ideas
Few Interesting facts:
- 72% of the nobel prize winners are Jews
- One sixth of the US citizen worked in Mc Donald in some part of their life
- Every 5 min one article is being published in Harvard University
Hard fact for Indians:
- The contribution of India in the area of innovation and creativity is diminishing over decades.
Why a person becomes creative and when can he/she be
creative?
There may be a number of reasons to be creative but there is
only one answer for “when one can be creative”.
Yes the answer is ANYTIME. Anyone can be creative
anytime.
eg)In critical situation to survive or to overcome
In laziness to be comfortable
you can be creative even while doing nothing.
Nothing stops anyone being creative. Be Creative!!!
When you have some idea, tell someone or write it down if you
don’t wish to share at that moment.
No idea is silly. Years ago before the invention of airplane,
the idea of man flying from one place to another was seen as silly and was
criticized but now it is one of the most popular mode of transport. Welcome the
critics with pleasure. If your ideas are not considered, it is just one of your
idea which was rejected but not you. You have innumerable ideas
within you. Never stop generating ideas.
One tool to generate ideas from a group is by Brainstorming.
Certain conditions to be followed while conducting a Brainstorming session.
Brainstorming Conditions:
- Never interfere when others share their ideas
- Never Criticize any idea
- Never praise any idea
Reverse Brainstorming is generating ideas for what not to do
and then generating ideas for what to do
The program also covered on 6 Hats of Thinking. One
should wear different hats and should think differently according to the
situation.
“When all think alike, then no one is thinking”
No idea is silly !!! Be Creative !!! Be Innovative !!!
Happy Reading :)
